Harriette & Burt Laskin
Harriette and Burt Laskin saw the problems both sets of their parents went through later in life. They urged her parents to move to a continuing care retirement community while they were still able. In fact, they visited most of the facilities in Hampton Roads on behalf of her parents - and that's what helped them decide that Lake Prince Woods was where they themselves wanted to live.
Judene & Ray Hartless
Judene and Ray Hartless and are the perfect example of the changing face of retirement. Both couples chose to move to Lake Prince Woods at an age when some couples are just beginning to sort through retirement living options. Their reason for moving? "We wanted to be the ones who made the decision about where we would live; we didn't want our children to have to worry about it," they explained.
Joan & Duane Hass
Joan and Duane Hass have taken advantage of the civic and cultural offerings at Lake Prince Woods since their move eight years ago. Whether enjoying an evening at the Suffolk Cultural Center or picking from the abundant calendar options right on campus, Joan has one comment in common with so many others - "Don't wait; you can begin enjoying life as soon as you get here. You'll wish there were more than 24 hours in a day."
