Fitness Day Urges Seniors to Keep Moving

May 20, 2015

The Suffolk YMCA and Lake Prince Woods have planned a day of activities focused on helping senior adults stay active and healthy on Wednesday, May 27 from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Suffolk YMCA on Godwin Boulevard.

Seniors will get to try a variety of exercise classes, including line dancing, chair exercise and balance and enjoy some corn hole competition. Chair massage and reflexology will also be available.

Participants will have a chance to get healthy living information from representatives from Sentara Obici Physical Therapy, the Alzheimer's Association, Suffolk Project Lifesaver, and Suffolk YMCA Fitness. Other businesses providing helpful information will be Lake Prince Woods, Farmer's Bank, Suffolk News Herald, and Home Instead Senior Services.

You do not have to be a YMCA member to participate and there is no charge or admission fee.
